Description
As director of the Garden from 1973 to 1987, Dr. Ralph Philbrick established the Garden's reputation in research on the Channel Islands. He discusses his career in botany, the realities of running a botanic garden, and his active role in the community. Dr. Philbrick was interviewed in the Blaksley Library at the Santa Barbara Botanic Garden on July 28, 2008 by Will Robinson and Joan Ariel. Dr. Philbrick provided some clarifications in a 3-minute interview on August 11, 2008. The edited and illustrated transcript was published in 2021.
